Sivaraman
Director
Satya is a print and broadcast journalist
with over 20 years of experience in South and Southeast
Asia. Having started his career with India’s English
language press, he moved to Thailand in 1992 where he
was special correspondent for New
Delhi Television and Senior Writer with Asia
Times. As audio-visual consultant for UN ESCAP in
1999-2000, he supervised the production of a regional
series on the right to development called
A Matter of Rights (5’ x 52). He
was then series producer for Young Outlook,
featuring young social activists in 25 countries round
the world. More recently, Satya was Producer/Director
for Lights Off!, a documentary about the impact
of privatisation of electricity in Asia, Africa and
Latin America.
Satya’s feature articles and
opinion articles have been distributed by Inter
Press Service (IPS) and Panos
Features, and have appeared in English language
newspapers and magazines across Asia
